SA wine hailed world best
SOUTH Australia’s Peter Lehmann Wines has been crowned winemaker of the year at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London.
The Barossa Valley based winery won the award for the second time, following its victory in 2003.
“To be made the overall winemaker of the year for the second time since 2003 is unbelievable,” Peter Lehmann Wines’ chief winemaker Andrew Wigan said.
“There is enormous excitement throughout the company, particularly as the judging is done by an international group of judges on ‘neutral ground’ in the UK.”
Founded in 1969, the International Wine and Spirit Competition is considered among the premier competitions of its kind.
