Indian summer boosts Welsh wine trade

WELSH wine-makers expect to reap the biggest and best vintage for 20 years because of a summer of heat waves.

They say 2006 promises to be a classic vintage year for Welsh wine, as our Indian summer continues to ripen their sweet and juicy grapes that are ready for picking earlier than usual.

Official figures indicate that there are just under 2,000 acres of vineyards in England and Wales.
